GERBILS, HAMPSTERS, AND AQUARIUMS

Gerbils are community animals, while hamsters prefer living alone or with one other occasionally. Mice are the smallest of the pet rodents, followed by gerbils, then hamsters, then guinea pigs.

Hamsters don't alway reproduce in captivity easily, and tend to eat their young. Lovely, huh? Ours never had babies. We recently lost first Sugar, then a few months later, Spice. Both were buddies and broke the rule that generally hampsters prefer living alone.

Gerbils, however, reproduce easily in captivity, and ours just had their 5th litter. How cute! And gerbils DON'T eat their young...they even let us hold the newborns!

GERBILS & HAMSTERS

Ready to check out our gerbils and hamsters? Again, a "*" denotes a furry friend departed.

Lucy and her children are our present gerbils. Gone on beyond is Joe Cool, Silver Streak, White Lightning, Sir Blanco, and Slick.

Lucy and Slick have given us 4 litters of babies, 5 of which we've kept. Three of them have the color combination of silver gray with white!

We lost Sugar a few months ago, and Spice only lasted a few months before joining Sugar. They were buddies and very sweet hampsters. They never bit, as hampsters are known to do at times.

We miss them alot

Aquariums are either freshwater or saltwater. Ours are freshwater. We have 2, 20 gallon tanks right now, one of which is community fish, the other is semi-aggressive fish. Both of our tanks are live-planted which means NO artificial plants...ALL live plants. It's a bit more hassle, but I like the ever-changing look, and I believe the fish like it better, too, as well as being healthier

AQUARIUMS

Ready to check out some of the inhabitants of our aquariums? Cool!

We have a community tank in my bedroom, which contains: Fruit tetras, serpae teters, hi fin black skirt tetras, dwarf african frogs, gold gouramis, dwarf blue gouramis, leopard and zebra danios, guppies, bumblebee gobies, kuhli loaches, clown loaches, glo lites, green and albino couradories, pencilfish, and florida flagfish.

Our semi-aggressive tank in the living room contains: a tiretrack eel, dwarf puffers, rosy barbs, tiger barbs, albino tiger barbs, spotted and albino couradories, a rainbow shark, and an albino rainbow shark.
